BOTOX

Botox Cosmetic is an FDA-approved prescription injection containing diluted amounts of Clostridium botulinum, specifically type A.  In these small amounts, it is very effective in the relaxation of specific muscles.  It works by inhibiting the communication between nerve cells and muscle cells.  This controlled relaxation hinders the ability to contract the specific muscles that lead to deep lines and wrinkles. Botox has been approved for use in minimizing frown lines, forehead lines, bunny lines and crow’s feet.
Millions of Botox treatments are performed each year.  This treatment has been extensively tested both in the lab and in the field.  It is a safe and effective solution for dynamic facial wrinkles.
The effects of botulinum toxin treatment can be seen within days and can last up to 4 to 6 months. Most common side effects with this treatment are bruising, tenderness or swelling along the treatment area.  These side effects are temporary and resolve in just a few days.  Rarely, eyelid droop may be seen after injection as migration of the toxin solution may occur directly after injection.
It is important not to rub the treated area for at least 12 hours, and lying down should be avoided for 3 to 4 hours following injection.

DYSPORT

FDA-approved Dysport facial injectable neuromodulator can help smooth lines and wrinkles, targeting crow’s feet, forehead, and between the eyebrows and more, for a more youthful, refreshed appearance.
Dysport is an alternative botulinum toxin that tends to appear a day or two sooner and generally spreads a bit more than Botox over the muscles treated. This is an advantage in some cases, treating unwanted lines and wrinkles quicker while allowing more control over the final result.
Dysport contains a greater concentration of Clostridium botulinum than Botox, in some clients allowing more efficient relaxation of specific muscles to prevent them from contracting and causing wrinkles.
Dysport may help improve the look of lines and wrinkles for up to 4 months. The majority of clients see improvement in just 2 to 3 days after treatment.
Most common side effects may include bruising, tenderness or swelling along the treatment area. These are temporary and typically resolve in a few days. Rarely, eyelid droop may be seen after injection as migration of the toxin solution may occur directly after injection.
